POΓ3ЄP / ΠΡΙΓΚΠ/OC ANTI in three lines. CCS 9. Metcalf, Crusades, 98. Porteous 21. Wäckerlin 111 ff. Repatinated and with heavy traces of overstriking, otherwise, very fine.

The obverse inscription O-A ΓEωP stands for AΓΙΟC ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟC, 'Saint George,' who was among the most popular saints worshipped by the Crusaders. This coin was overstruck on another follis of Roger of Salerno (CCS 8. Metcalf, Crusades, 89. Porteous 20. Wäckerlin 106 ff), with considerable parts of the undertype still visible
